As Communications Manager for the Paung Sie Facility (NIS Foundation), I led the communications strategy to promote the multi-donor fund’s mission of social cohesion in Myanmar.
In addition to developing branded communications materials and redesigning the website, I went beyond the scope of work to deliver a robust reporting and storytelling framework, improved internal communications and processes, and a more engaging and effective monthly Social Cohesion Working Group meeting (a gathering of UN agencies, peace-building experts, and civil society groups).
The objectives:
📣 Raise awareness of and communicate Paung Sie Facility’s mission and impact, including how social cohesion and peace-building actors can work together to amplify change
🤝 Engage local partners in program design and evaluation through participatory research to get to their needs for technical support
✊ Strive for positive change and innovation through internal and external communications that trickle down to ground-level change
Deliverables and impact I owned:
Improved the storytelling framework and process of collecting stories from the field through co-designing strategies and delivering workshops on “how to identify—and tell—a good story”
🎯 Produced 10 stories of change about Phandeeyar, Center for Diversity and National Harmony, Turning Tables, and Football United
Used feedback through surveys on SCWG meetings to increase engagement and participation from changemakers
🎯 Improved the structure of SCWG meetings to allow more time for group discussions and ideas exchange
Optimized for high-traffic events to launch multi-channel campaigns that communicate with impact
🎯 Created PSF’s first video, for the UN International Day of Peace:
